Nutritional Medicine
Our diet plays a primary role in our health.  What we put into our bodies either heals us or
hurts us.  Health can be changed dramatically by our diets.  A diet full vegetables, lean protein,
proper fats, fruits, and whole grains is life affirming and revitalizing to our bodies, minds and
spirits.  A diet formed of processed and fast foods, low in vegetables and high in saturated fat,
is generally disease promoting and corruptive to the body.

As much as a proper healthy diet can be of benefit, that same diet is only as good as our
ability to digest, absorb, assimilate and eliminate.  Everyone’s digestion is an integral factor in
their health.  Food choices, meal planning, dining, taking dietary supplements and digesting
are habits that we can modify to invigorate our health.  We can develop these habits in healthy
ways that will help us to harmonize our bodies and minds.

Clinical nutrition is one of the main cornerstones of naturopathic medicine. Studies from
around the world, in a variety of medical traditions, have validated the benefits of clinical
nutrition.  Thousands  of documented cases of physical problems, including heart disease and
diabetes, have been helped and cured by nutrition, without unpleasant side effects or
complications.

Nutrients can be used singly or in combination to treat every health conditions.  Vitamins,
minerals, amino acids, essentials fats and other phytonutrients are necessary and essential
molecules that promote the health, regeneration and repair of our bodies.

Naturopathic theory suggests that most illnesses are caused
by digestive disturbances, which have led to a toxic
environment in the body. As the body is overwhelmed by
toxins it cannot eliminate, the health or strength of the body
breaks down and symptoms of various illnesses surface.
Nutritional changes are a main component to changing the
diseased situation because today's processed foods and
poor eating habits are the source of many of the body's
toxins.
